Overheating and fire detection cable
In today's industrial environment, the potential for interuption and financial losses due to overheating and fire can be devastating if it is not quickly detected and localized.
For this reason, the overheating and fire detection cables of Protectowire® are the first choice of many experts.
The lineare overheating and fire detection cables of Protectowire™ work like a switch; two or three conductors, surrounded by an insulating, heat sensitive polymer layer, run in parallel inside a protective outer jacket. Depending on the type of cable chosen, the heat sensitive layers melt at a specific temperature (57°C bis 180°C), which creates a contact between the conductors. This contact can release an alarm at a fire or other alarm panel. The linear overheating and fire detection cables of Protectowire™ may at any point along the cable detect overheating or fire. The cable is certified by UL and FM. Due to its unique properties it is suitable for many applications. The advantages of Protectowire™ cables include:
+ Largely fault and maintenance free.
+ Largely suitable for applications in aggressive environments
+ The high level of flexibility allows for easy and quick installation
+ Suitable for applications in hazardous areas
The Protectowire™ linear heat detection cable has many other advantages. There are many cases where conventional detectors are inadequate or inappropriate and where Protectowire™ can be used successfully. The simple and quick installation also results in a highly competitive price/performance ratio.
Depending on the application the best product for the particular application can be chosen.
